Why EAP?

Burn-out, depression, risky lifestyle behavior and other psycho-social issues become increasingly a human and economic reality to deal with as a company. Senior business leaders today view poor (mental) health as the number one driver of indirect costs. The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work identified a number of imminent psycho-social risks underlying these costs. The graph below illustrates some of the major cost components.

Low barrier systems for seeking psychosocial assistance such as the EAP are specifically designed to minimize the emotional-psychological and financial fallout of such circumstances via:

  • Health & lifestyle Awareness Campaigns and advice
  • The identification of behavioral and health problems that may affect workplace performance
  • Counselling & referral; prompting employees to seek assistance and support
